If you live in the United States, you may neglect to think of our neighbor to the North when you are thinking about getting away from it all for a holiday. Though you may not want to go to Canada when you want a warm vacation on the beach in the middle of winter, there are plenty of great reasons why you should consider Canada holidays when you want to go out of the country. You can always get there so much easier than flying over the ocean, and you will still be leaving your home country to explore a new one. Some things will be familiar, and others will be different.

Some of my earlier memories of life are of Canada holidays, and I wish we still did them. I found Canada to be a lot like home, but I still felt like we had gone a long way away and that I was in some magical land that was not like home. I don’t remember a lot about the Canada holidays now because I was so young, but I do remember enough to make me want to go back and take my family with me some time.

Sao Paulo is another vibrant city, bursting with nightlife and entertainment. There is also plenty sightseeing during the day with a number of remarkable churches, including the Zen Temple and the Sao Paulo Municipal Cathedral. There are several museums and galleries, including the Sacred Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum. An Historical City Tour takes tourists round to see and learn about the major sights. The markets are interesting places to browse and to look for souvenirs and there is an arts and crafts market, ideal for choosing a gift for loved ones back home.

Guaruja is a favorite spot for tourists and a popular destination for surfers and divers. There are several beaches to choose from, including Pereque, which has remained traditional and old fishing villages are still maintained. The Acqua Mundo Theme Park is the largest aquarium in South America and has over 700 different animals on display. Brazil holidays are good for history lovers too and the past comes to life at sights such as the nearby Barra Grande Fortress, constructed in 1584.

The natural world can be seen at the protected National Park in Chapada dos Veadeiros, an area of beauty with waterfalls and lakes. Back in the days before the US embargo, holidays in Cuba used to be all the rage. My grandfather used to go on and on about Cuba holidays. Although I enjoyed his stories, back when I was a kid I always assumed that he was exaggerating for effect. He would tell me about meeting kings of business and European royalty, movie stars and mobsters, all there to have a great time on an island paradise. One of his last regrets was that he did not get to go on another Cuba holiday before he died. Although things have changed a lot over there, my grandpa would be happy today if he knew that his grandson had made a trip over to that beautiful island.

To listen to people in the government talk, you would think that holidays to Cuba holidays would be extremely dangerous for an American. Nothing could be farther from the truth. As a matter of fact, the biggest peril for Americans going on Cuba holidays is our own state department. You see, it is technically illegal for us to go there because our country has an embargo against them for reasons that do not really make sense. If you want to go on a Cuba holiday, you have to do one of two things. Either you have to get special approval from the State Department (which can be difficult, to say the least) or you have to fly in to Canada, and then go to Cuba from there. The latter option is a little risky as, technically, you are breaking American law. If the US government wanted to make an example of you, they could not let you back in to the country. In reality, however, that never happens. That is the way most American folks take Cuba holidays.

Once you get there, prepare to be blown away by one of the loveliest places you have ever seen. Everything about Cuba is gorgeous. The people are beautiful, the architecture is lovely, the ocean is amazing, and the scenery is out of this world! Although there is a lot of bad rap that the Cuban government gets over here, it is mostly overblown. The people that I met seemed very happy with their lives. They make enough money, get good health care, and overall, seem to enjoy life a lot more than most of the people I know back home.

Florida holidays

Florida has long been a popular area for both retirement and holidays. The reason for this is because Florida tends to have great weather all throughout the year, if you can get around the hurricane season, that is. Besides the great weather, there are some wonderful places to have Florida holidays that many wish to visit at least once in their lives. When you want to go, you should think about when you are going and where you wish to visit so you can avoid some of the busier times of the year. There are times though, when you just have to put up with the crowds.

Probably one of the most popular Florida holidays is Disney. Families with children and adults who are young at heart visit this place throughout the year. Not everyone wants to go to Disney, but most find that they think it would be a lovely place to visit. Florida holidays are often wrapped around a trip to Disney. Holidays in Australia

I hope to visit Australia this winter, and I hope that it will not be the last time. I would like to think that I will take many holidays in Australia in my life time, but I know that this might not be something that I can do very often. However, I will go when I can as I have friends there, and it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t get to spend some time with them every few years. Besides, I think there is a lot my daughter can learn when we visit there, and I hope to take her with me when I go.

The best thing about holidays in Australia is that you can go when the weather in the US is bad, and it will be the middle of summer there. Not only that, but there are many great beaches there, and everyone is so wonderfully nice. Though I am sure there are exceptions, it would seem that a majority of those who live in Australia are easy going and fun to be around. Though you can’t always take long vacations, I want to make my holidays in Australia long because I won’t get to go very often.

Another great thing about holidays in Australia is that they are very much like the US in culture, but at the same time, things are just different enough to make it an amazing experience. They have beauty everywhere you turn around, and there are many awesome things that everyone should have a chance to see in their life time. I know there are those who have dreamed of going to a European country for as long as they can remember, but for me, I have always wanted to take holidays in Australia.

There is one downfall though. When you take holidays in Australia, you do have to be on a plane for a very long time. It takes about fourteen hours to fly to Sydney from the west coast, and I have to take a six hour flight just to get to the west coast of the US to get on a plane to Australia. I’m not really worried about myself, but I am concerned about my daughter, who will be six when we go. However, it will be worth it, and I suspect that the light might be the longest I have ever taken, or will ever take, but for great holidays in Australia, it will all be worth it.

Auburn Hills Michigan

When my husband told me that we were spending the holidays in the town of Auburn Hills Michigan I was a little surprised. I was also a little apprehensive about the trip for a handful of reasons. Since we live in the southern part of the United States, the very idea of visiting a town like Auburn Hills Michigan at the beginning of the winter season seemed too much for us.

I was also apprehensive because I barely knew his family. While my husband’s
parents passed away a long time ago, there are many other relatives peppered throughout the country. Most of the family lives in Auburn Hills Michigan and I was feeling a little overwhelmed.

Part of the problem is being out of my element. I guess that Auburn Hills, Michigan is a wonderful town. I just don’t know how well I would fit in. My southern drawl and my generally relaxed manner are a little odd to many northerners. They may find me a little too laid back during the visit.

There is also the issue of the quick-moving northerners’ way of making me feel very nervous. When my husband first moved into our small town in Georgia I was really taken by how quickly he spoke and how quickly he did just about everything. I guess that’s what makes us a good mix.
Instead of letting myself feel like I’m moving in slow motion, I decided to gather up as much information about Auburn Hills Michigan that I could. This would help me feel more at home and it would also give me a few topics to discuss during those odd quiet spells that I seem to fall into when surrounded by people I don’t know.

I found out about the history of the town and I was able to fill the room with some of the facts about Auburn Hills Michigan. The facts ranged from the Detroit Pistons to the establishment of the town in 1821. I also added that the town was named after Auburn, New York.

After a few moments of prattling on about the beautiful town as well as my impression of the beautiful sights in the snow, my husband said, “Slow down. You’re talking so fast that we can’t keep up.” Well, I guess that’s the effect that a northern town like Auburn Hills Michigan does for a southern girl like me.
